I came across this product by accident after watching a You tube video on how to clean a patio. For years I have been pressure washing our slabs but with very little effect and had almost given up. I used it as the video had suggested and wet the surface first then used a watering can to distribute the product.. I left it for 2 hours and then pressure hosed it down and was amazed at the results, so cant recommend this more. Be careful though I now have a pair of designer jeans that start white at the ankles and slowly progress to their original colour by the knees. Some student will love them.

This stuff is fab. Sprayed on wooden patio, brick garden wall, window sills, terracotta planters hasnt soaked through and affected plants, slabbed paths and monoblock driveway. In the end I was hunting round the garden looking for other things to spray. Green gunk started to disappear overnight. Black gunk took a bit longer, but disappeared too. Easy and quick to apply. I had enough left over to give to mum to let her spray her path too, so you get lots of m2 for the price. I probably sprayed on a less than ideal day, it was sunny when I sprayed, then rained later, but it still worked. I will def buy again when needed.

We have an Indian sandstone patio, that looked excellent for several years, but has recently developed black spottyitis and has a few patches where in shade some sort of dark algae or whatever formed. I bought a 5 l sprayer and filled it with probably too concentrated 30 water and 70 Sodium Hypochlorite. I was amazed when 20 mins later, the slabs looked pristine again. I was careful to rinse it off with a hose and try to ensure that the water went away from plants, as it probably wouldnt do plants much good at all. We have previously tried a couple of other products alleged to clean patios, but they had little effect, but this one does I really cant recommend it highly enough… brilliant.

This stuff is pricey, but it does the job really well. The results on our driveway were impressive, and I now intend to use it on all our paths since it seems to keep mould and algae at bay for a while afterwards. Months after Id first applied Deep Blue I realised that the parts that Id treated were now cleaner than the parts of the driveway that had not looked as though they needed treating, and which Id left untreated months before. It can take a while for the final effect to be obvious, but it really seems to make a difference and justify that price tag by keeping moss, mould, and algae at bay.I also bought some for an elderly friends large car park excommercial premises and applied it for her. Within three days, mossy areas beneath trees were browning off and areas wed missed were already becoming obvious, so although we will need to do the job more than once to be sure weve got all the areas covered, its nice to know that a year or so down the line the moss wont be reappearing, and the surfaces wont be slippery with mould or algae which is why we will treat our paths too.The treatment doesnt last forever this is the great outdoors, after all but, while it holds, the results are stunning.I found that results were best with a watering can, but it really goes through the Deep Blue solution quickly since the application is more concentrated. i used this the moment it arrived as i had litterally just finished clearing up my patio and paths, i used it at a ratio of 41 and here we are 4 weeks down the line and there is no difference. In the picture i have provided, the left slabs have been treated but the right have not. i would have expected at least some difference, but if anything the slabs on the right look slightly better. I have treated my raised patio slabs , plus the wall and steps down to the grass and then the path that runs at the side of garage to my back door. in the photo i am stood with my back to the wall at the corner of my house the slabs to the left continue up the back garden whilst the slabs to the right not treated run down the side of the house and to the garage door just out of shot. Even though it is still early days 4 weeks i would have expected to see some signs of improvement instead i am left somewhat disappointed as i was expecting great things even if it took weeks. unless things improve over the coming weeks i cannot recommend this product to anyone. however where i first scrubbed a slab with warm water and dash of washing up liquid using a stiff yard brush first, then applied this on the black stains that remained, it does appear to have made a tiny difference where the black stains are becoming mottled in places, but where the stains have not been scrubbed previously, it has so far had no effect.Addendum well here we are now some 810 weeks or more since this was applied to my patio, and using the photo already published there remains zero difference on the slabs that have been treated, so i have to say that for me, this product does not work. and is therefor a complete waste of money2021 ADDENDUM it is now 9 months since this was applied and as you can see from the above comments after 3 months it had zero effect but here we are a further 6 months down the line and i have to say my opinion has changed, there is now a huge difference between the slabs i spayed last year and now. It is such a shame that it has taken so long to have any real effect, but it looks like the end of summer is the best time to apply this stuff. i am honestly amazed at the difference now. i have to eat humble pie because it has eventually done a good job, a very good job. just dont expect short term results. i have upgraded my review to 4 star as i think that is a fair representation

I use this product in my cleaning business regularly so I get through loads of it. I gave up pressure washing as all that did was just move the problem from one place to another. If you think about it, a pressure washer just blasts stuff off the place where it is and leaves it in a puddle somewhere else in the vicinity, it doesnt actually get rid of it.If you dont get rid of it, youll just let it crawl back on to your patio etc… I needed something I could kill the moss and algae with properly and not have to clean up any mess left from pressure washing.This product works well on patios, decking and other areas where moss and algae lie. But as with all things, it should be applied according to the manufacturers instructions. Removing loose material first is always a good idea as it wont deal effectively with an overdose of big lumps of moss in the stated dosage. It wont shift the growing moss clumps on a roof for example as that quantity of plant matter will just overwhelm its abilities. And this is more or less admitted on the can where instruction is given to remove excess and loose material before applying. But for slimy paths and decking and greasy green walls it works fine without having to do any prep work.It takes a couple of months to work as suggested in the instructions and there will be residue and there will have to be further applications to persistent and stubborn areas. it is not an apply once and never have to do it again product, there isnt anything on earth in that category except perhaps a nuclear bomb… which this product certainly aint.The other thing worth bearing in mind is that not all black and green stuff on the decking or patio is the sort of stuff this product will deal with. So if you get a disappointing result, it may well be because youve got some other substance on your decking or patio such as petrocarbon staining the effect of petrol, diesel and the like in the atmosphere and your first application of Moss Away, or any of its equivalents, got rid of the algae and moss present and left you with other stuff to deal with using some other product.

I bought this product in June 2014. I used it on my Indian stone patios.Normally after the Autumn and Winter the patios are dirty with almost no discernable colour and quite slippery with algae.Now they still show good colour and no sign of any algae growth, I still have about 13 of a container left so Ill probably use that anyway just to ensure they all stay looking good.I will definitely buy another to put in stock for future use.I notice some reviews have reported disappointing results, maybe I was just lucky but I think the product is great.

We had like green mold or algae under the sandstone and also blackspot in places. At first the green was still there after we jet washed but over night it had lifted the green away..it has left it looking a little patchy but 100 better than what it was like. Almost look like the day we layed them. Only 4 stars given as the day after the solution left a cheesy smell on the patio. Hopefully this is just the solution keep working. Hope the smell goes soon.

I find it difficult to understand some of the adverse comments made about this product. I applied it to a terracotta patio a few weeks ago and within 24 hours the moss had already turned yellow. Within 45 days other surface Algae had been killed. A quick brush up followed by a hosedown left the surface in an ideal condition. A product that did what it said it would.

Rather than half a day with a jet was and then having to repoint the patio this makes life so much easier for less than 18 and the same results. I used a hand held pressure weed killer type applicator and went for 15 rather than 19 just to be on the safe side cant say if a weaker mixture would work I dont see why not. Miles easier than the annual pressure wash. I did wait for a dry day and it does take around 34 days before you start to see a result and also a downpour a few days after seemed to help. Great product.

It is incredible how Deep Blue cleans my patio and block paving. After months of disregard one year, the patio had become black with algae that when wet was very slippery indeed. One application of Deep Blue by watering can took a month or so to have full effect but it cleaned the stonework to the best condition I had ever seen it, bringing back the colour of the stone I hadnt seen for a very long time. I have recommended Deep Blue to others who are also very pleased indeed with it. Would recommend it to anybody with stonework to return the original colour.
