Checked next morning and black mould. Moss and lichens were 99.99 killed off Just lightly brushed away dried skins of black mould from joints wind had blown most away dogs were good to use area after drying for about1 hour.     Wow, I was a little sceptical about using a product like this but this stuff really work well. My natural stone large patio area was constantly covered in green mold and it was very slippy.I would power was it and within a week it would be back. With a day of using this product I saw the mold going black and the only thing thasts on my stones now is mud off the kids shoes. Its also become so much easier to quickly was down.

    I have been using Deep Blue for several years now. There are other similar products out there but I belief they are dearer. I have also found that Deep Blues price has been very competitive over the years as against using my over sixties discount card or promotions in the mainstream DIY or Gardening centres who only seem to carry minimal if any stock I am aware that bleach will do a similar job, but feel it is crude by comparisonFACT. This is a really good product that is capable of giving excellent results. Like many diy jobs preparation is imperative. If you have heavy mould, algae or moss either pressure spray, scrape or wire brush first I have a Wolf garden tool that takes different attachments one of which is a hard wearing wire brush that simply clips on. Yes, its not the pleasantest of jobs to do, BUT I have only needed to do it ONCE, several years ago. From my experience it is important to apply Deep Blue on a cool or mild, windless dry day with no rain forecast for the following 24 hours at least. I use it in the spring or autumn. Do not skimp, use the full strength 4 1 mix, a weak mix is false economy. You may find that your treated area dries up on the dark side, this seems to disappear quite soon, the solution really does seem to carry on working for many months.APPLICATION. I use a HoZelock 5 ltr Premium Plus garden spray when treating my roof as I find the pressure really gets the mix into and between the concrete tiles. I use a large watering can fitted with a weed sprout 3.50 from HomebaseDeep Blue rather than an ordinary rose when treating the patio. A small spray bottle or any old ,clean brush is also handy for any hard to get at areas where moss and mould often lurk. Suggest you wear waterproof gloves. You need to keep the kids and pets away for a few hours or so.HISTORY. We live in a bungalow with an L shaped roof and yes, I appreciate its a lot easier to treat a bungalow rather than a house roof due to its diminutive height. Our home was 1213 years old, similar in age and style to the surrounding properties, and being near the coast, already had a quite substantial amount of mouldalgaemoss growing on it. We spent two days removing as much of this as possible. With hindsight I could have got one of these contractors that pressure spray roofs,although they dont work cheap. I then sprayed it with a 4.1 mix of Deep Blue, this only took about three hours. And WOW a few of the locals really thought we had had a new roof fitted. It looks good. As the manufacturer states it carries on working for months, I agree with this. In fact this was done in October 2006, I never touched it again untill April 2010, and it was still looking good, this time it simple took three hours to spray as no moss had reappeared, there was no more preparation to do. I am generous with the spray as obviously you loose some due to the slope of the roof, I start at the bottom and work my way up..I intend to do another spray in a few ,months weather dependant as it is now almost three years again since the last treatment, it still looks good, and there is no moss at all, whereas the bungalow roofs around us are smothered in moss making them look years older.We have a fairly large front which is block paved, I must admit to neglecting this. However last July using my Wolf garden tool with its wire brush attachment I removed as much moss as possible and then late evening as the temperature cooled down I applied the Deep Blue using a watering can not one we use on plants fitted with the weed control rose. Seven months on and it is still weed free, but I intend to treat it again in the spring. It is also a bonus that apart from killing the weeds etc, it brings the blocks up like new. I always order well in advance, but credit to Deep Blue my last order arrived in under 48 hours. Impressed.UPDATE. I managed to give the roof another spray in between the changeable weather conditions that we have been experiencing. I used a cool, dry, windless day in mid May 2013, and gave it a thorough spraying,this time with a slightly stronger 3.5 to 1 mix. It looks better than ever showing up against the surrounding properties even more. It seems to be building a resistance to moss and algae with continuous coats even though they are spaced out over the years,as there was not a trace of anything at all on my roof except for the odd bit of bird dung I used just four 5Ltr cans for this.I have on the 1st June 2013 given our block paved front a good soaking using a 4.1 mix, it was a cool dampish day but rain free, and as correctly forecast staying dry for a good few days afterwards. I confess to using seven 5Ltr cans of Magic for this, costing 126, but it has been eleven months since the last application, and some weeds were just beginning to grow through again. Everywhere locally is knee deep in weeds due to the weather being favourable for them and I would imagine that aged Block Paving is one of the toughest materials to keep weed free Having said that our front is really looking good now, and theres not a weed in sight.

    Despite my husband dismissing this product when I bought it. Him and a neighbour now constantly discuss my efforts.We have a communal brick drive used by us and our 2 neighbours. We all spend about two days a Yr power washing them to get them clean. Last year I put a dose on in March and another in July and the results are brilliant. The photos speak for the,selves, including the bits I missed to spray with Wet and Forget. first photo shows our and neighbours owned drives.     I didnt know about ythis sort of product but it really does work. At this time of year everything outside seems to take on a green algae appearance. Patio, boat, terrace, statues, garden furniture etc. Ive sprayed the lot and I am delighted with the results. However, I have found theat Deep Blue seems to do a similar job, and theres another Spear Jackson product that is similar. I looked for alternatives because Wet n Forget suddenly went up in price to a crazy level, so I havent bought it since the first time, but there are other similar products for a lot less. maybe Wet n Forget will get the message, but I think it comes from Australia so perhaps they are unable to compete.

We tried disinfectant, but if anything moss on the patio seemed to thrive We find the best way to apply is to use a higher concentration together with a stringtype mop and bucket. This does not give as much runoff as a watering can and is actually less work than constantly mixing and filling the can.

    My rather large patio which is built entirely from block paving has been made unsightly with patches of algae on the blocks and a lot of moss which grows between the blocks. I have in the past spent a lot of time and considerable effort with a vshaped wire brush removing the moss from between the blocks which soon grows back and the algae which doesnt brush off but requires scrubbing.I decided to try a liquid moss, mould and algae killer which I hoped would save time and effort.I ordered a five litre container of Deep Blue Plus XP which duly arrived. I am always a bit hesitant about ordering liquids through the post as I am worried about leaks and spills but the sturdy plastic container held in a strong plastic bag tied off with a tie wrap and all held within a strong cardboard box ensured that the product came safely without any damage or problems.I had to wait until we had a few dry days and then mixed the liquid as instructed in a large watering can and simply watered the whole of the patio. I was pleased by the lack of smell from the liquid which has a faint but pleasant smell of disinfectant about it. I have smelt some of these types of liquids before and they are reminiscent of the smell of public toilets which can be overpowering and be almost offensive.I was pleased with the coverage of the liquid and was even more pleased when after a week the moss turned brown and started to die away. Small weeds growing between the blocks also started dying away so I am really pleased with that. Likewise, the algae patches died away and the rain washed it away. There is one small persistent patch of moss which will need treating again if only the rain would stop.When watering with the killer, some of the liquid ran down the slope of the patio towards the grass but did not cause any of the grass to die away which is a big plus point.This is a very versatile product which can be used in several situations where moss, mould and algae is a nuisance.I think that the user instructions and safety data could be a little more comprehensive though and perhaps put into a separate booklet. The safety data on the label is printed very small and is difficult to read.All in all I think that this is a very worthwhile product and would definitely recommend it to anybody who has a moss, mould or algae problem.With thanks to the manufacturer for the sample product, sent for review purposes.

    Regrettably, I have found this hasnt worked on any of the lichencovered surfaces I have sprayed it on. It clears algae, especially on wood, but bleach does the same job in that respect. All the lichencovered walls and patio slabs we have look no different, and I sprayed them a month ago. Expensive and looks and smells like antifreeze.Update after 5 weeks..I have just sprayed my old but very good quality teak patio furniture which is covered in algae and lichen. 48 hours later and its already had an astonishing effect, revealing a beautiful silver grey patina. In previous years I have used the pressure washer which never does them much good. So I have added another star.I treated the furniture whilst it was on my flagstone patio and the slabs underneath also look cleaner. Its their second treatment, albeit accidental. Maybe I was a bit stingy with how much solution they had last time. It maybe that they need to be heavily doused…watch this space.Update Mar 2021 this stuff takes its time. It is very good. You have to be patient on absorbent hard surfaces like brick and concrete. On wood, its fast acting, and on shiny hard surfaces like a car its fantastic Its very expensive though and Ive find cheaper alternatives hence only 4 star.

    A friend recommended this product to clean blackspot and lichen from my large paved garden patio. She swears by it. I usually power wash it, which is very labour intensive and uses a great deal of water. So i gave this a try. The areas that werent too badly marked cleaned up quite well. However there are some slabs that are badly marked and the first application didnt seem to make any difference to them. I did another treatment last night knowing that rain was forecast for overnighttoday and then again for early next week, so Im hoping that this 2nd treatment will be effective. Its very easy to use, not labour intensive and uses far less water.

    Although the pack says up to 170m2 coverage, you would never get this with a watering can I used nearly the whole bottle to do our patio you have to saturate it, but I cannot believe the result overnight. The slabs I did are part of our dog pen, and were covered in bright green patches where the dogs wee that even jet washing will not completely remove. I did this yesterday, and was not expecting results yet as it says 2 4 days this morning the patio is completely clear, looks like new. I cant believe it time will tell if it keeps it clear, but it took me half an hour instead of hours with the jet wash, and a better result. Even if you use more than they say, it is worth every penny Probably better done with a sprayer as I imagine you would use much less….
